The Arab League has expressed full support for Lebanon during its ongoing conflict with Israel, strongly condemning what it called continued Israeli attacks.

During a phone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said the organization stands in solidarity with Lebanon against what he described as “brutal Israeli aggression.”

He also urged that Lebanon be included in the recent ceasefire agreement linked to the United States and Iran, although whether Lebanon is part of that deal remains disputed.

The Arab League further supported Lebanon’s government efforts to:

  • Strengthen state authority
  • Expand control of the Lebanese army and official institutions
  • Restrict weapons to state security forces only

Officials also backed Lebanon’s attempts to negotiate a long-term solution with Israel, saying proper conditions are needed for peace talks to succeed.

Meanwhile, fighting continues despite ceasefire announcements. According to Lebanese officials, more than 300 people have been killed and over 1,100 injured in recent Israeli attacks.

Overall, the Arab League is pushing for stronger diplomatic efforts and broader ceasefire protections as Lebanon faces increasing violence and pressure.
