Foreign ministers from Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, and the UAE gathered in Riyadh to address growing regional tensions after recent missile and drone strikes by Iran. In a joint statement, they strongly condemned the attacks as deliberate and unacceptable, especially since they targeted civilian areas and infrastructure.
The ministers urged Iran to halt its actions immediately and return to diplomacy, warning that threats to vital shipping routes like the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab could destabilize global trade. They also called on Iran to stop supporting armed groups in other countries, stressing that nations have the right to defend themselves under international law.
At the same time, the statement reaffirmed support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability, while condemning ongoing Israeli attacks there. Overall, the meeting highlighted growing concern across the region about escalating conflict and the urgent need for dialogue to prevent a wider crisis.
