Türkiye has stepped up its diplomatic efforts to contain the escalating Middle East conflict, with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announcing a regional tour aimed at mobilizing support for de-escalation.

Speaking in Ankara alongside Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, Fidan said the tour will focus on identifying concrete steps to halt the fighting and prevent further regional spillover, as the conflict expands into Lebanon and Iraq.

Fidan strongly condemned the targeted killings of Iranian officials, describing them as unlawful acts that fall outside the accepted norms of warfare and warning that such actions risk deepening instability across the region.

Carrying messages from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Fidan is expected to present Türkiye’s proposals for a lasting peace, while engaging both Western and Eastern partners to coordinate diplomatic efforts.

Reaffirming Ankara’s vision, he emphasized the goal of a region where all countries can coexist within secure and sovereign borders, reiterating support for a Palestinian state and long-term regional stability.

Türkiye continues to position itself as a key diplomatic actor, seeking to bridge divisions and prevent the conflict from escalating into a broader regional crisis.
