Israel’s wars against Iran and Hezbollah have already cost the country about $15 billion, and the figure is still rising. Most of the money is going to military expenses, with the Defense Ministry asking for more than $12 billion to keep operations running. But the civilian side is also feeling the squeeze: tens of thousands of damage claims have been filed, and businesses plus workers are set to receive over $2 billion in compensation.

The government is now considering easing restrictions on economic activity to soften the blow, but the long-term outlook suggests Israel’s security budget will stay high for years to come.
