A tragic plane crash near Juba has left 14 people dead, including all passengers and the pilot. The plane involved a small Cessna aircraft that went down on the outskirts of the city.
According to the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority, early signs suggest that bad weather played a major role. Low visibility in the area likely made flying conditions difficult at the time of the crash.
Among the victims were two people from Kenya, while the rest were from South Sudan.
Videos shared online show burning wreckage scattered across a misty, mountainous area, highlighting the severity of the crash. Emergency teams have been sent to the site, about 20 kilometers from Juba, to manage the situation and begin a full investigation.
Authorities say more information will be released as they work to confirm exactly what caused the accident. For now, the focus remains on recovery efforts and understanding how the tragedy happened.
