Reception at the Presidency of the ONC: Courtesy Visit by the CEO of KAYIOĞLU HOLDING

KAYIOĞLU HOLDING CEO Mehmet Kaya paid a courtesy visit to ONC President Ibrahim Manzo Diallo to discuss Turkish–African media cooperation, the planned establishment of the Turkish–African Media Cooperation Council in Niamey, and prospective media investment projects in Niger.

The President of the National Observatory for Communication (ONC), Mr. Ibrahim Manzo Diallo, received Mr. Mehmet Kaya, CEO of KAYIOĞLU HOLDING, at the Presidency on Friday, 6 March 2026. The meeting was held in the conference hall attached to the Presidency, with the participation of members of the institution as well as its administrative and technical staff.

The visit was carried out upon the recommendation of H.E. Mr. Özgür Çınar, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Niger, with the objective of establishing contacts and exchanging views with international stakeholders interested in the development of the media sector in Niger.

During the meeting, Mr. Mehmet Kaya presented several initiatives to the President of the ONC, notably a project entitled “Turkish–African Media Cooperation Forum – Niamey 2026.” This initiative aims to promote the exchange of experience, the development of partnerships, and the strengthening of cooperation between media professionals from Türkiye and those of the African continent, particularly media actors in Niger.

The discussions also addressed the process of establishing the “Turkish–African Media Cooperation Council,” which is planned to be headquartered in Niamey. In this context, information was shared and assessments were made regarding the various stages of planned investments in the media sector, including projects such as KAYI TV and KAYI RADIO.

The parties also discussed the organization of the Turkish–African Media Cooperation Forum, planned to be held in Niamey under the auspices of the future Council and with high-level participation. Following this forum, the establishment of television studios in Niger and the production of television programs aimed at showcasing the country’s cultural richness and talents were also brought to the agenda. In this regard, particular emphasis was placed on the program project entitled “Les Talents du Niger (The Talents of Niger).”

In addition, potential avenues for future cooperation were explored in areas such as capacity building in the media sector, the implementation of joint projects, and the promotion of sustainable partnerships among stakeholders in the sector.
