Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame met Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on Friday where he expressed solidarity with the Gulf state following Israel’s attack on Doha.
Kagame also extended his condolences for the loss of lives during the attack, according to a statement from his office.
“Their discussions highlighted the need for accountability and the pursuit of a just resolution to the ongoing regional conflict,” the statement said.
Rwanda was among African nations that condemned Israel’s attack on Tuesday that targeted Hamas negotiators in Doha. Kigali had rebuked “hypocrisy and complacency” of the international community in the face of the escalating tensions in Middle East.
