Lebanon has been hit by another deadly Israeli strike, this time in Zebdine near Nabatieh, leaving a building in ruins and residents scrambling to find victims. Just hours earlier, an Israeli raid in Beirut’s Jnah area killed at least five people and injured 21, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.

Hezbollah responded by launching drones and rockets at northern Israel, triggering sirens and air defence systems. Meanwhile, Iran carried out fresh missile strikes against Israeli targets—one of the most direct attacks by Tehran since the current hostilities began.

This combination of Israeli‑Lebanese clashes and Iranian involvement has sharply increased fears of a broader regional war. The violence is already impacting global markets, with Brent crude oil prices surging above $108 a barrel amid concerns over shipping routes and energy infrastructure security. Western governments are urging de‑escalation, warning that further intensification could destabilize the eastern Mediterranean.
