Türkiye has strongly condemned attacks by the Houthi militia targeting Abha International Airport in southern Saudi Arabia and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, expressing solidarity with the Kingdom and calling for an end to the violence.
In a statement on Friday, the Turkish foreign ministry denounced the attacks in the strongest terms and extended condolences to those killed, while wishing a swift recovery to the injured.
Ankara urges de-escalation through diplomacy
The ministry said attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure risked further escalating tensions across the region and must stop immediately.
“Once again, we emphasise that we stand in full solidarity with Saudi Arabia,” the statement said, reaffirming Türkiye’s call for existing disputes to be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.
The statement underscored Ankara’s support for Saudi Arabia as regional tensions persist, while stressing the need for a diplomatic path to resolving conflicts.
