Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez had to land in Ankara on Sunday after his official aircraft experienced a minor technical problem while traveling to Yerevan for the European Political Community summit. Prime ministerial sources told EFE that Sánchez will overnight in Ankara before resuming his trip. The incident follows a similar disruption in September 2025, when Sánchez missed a Paris meeting on Ukraine after his Falcon jet suffered a technical fault and returned to Madrid. Despite the setback, Sánchez is expected to join the summit in Armenia on schedule.
