Türkiye has strongly condemned a wave of coordinated terrorist attacks in Mali, calling them “heinous” and expressing support for the country.
The attacks struck several locations on Saturday morning, including areas around the capital Bamako, as well as Gao, Kidal in the north, and the central city of Sévaré. Witnesses reported loud explosions and heavy gunfire, suggesting a coordinated assault on multiple targets, including military barracks.
Mali’s army later said the situation was “under control,” adding that the armed groups responsible had suffered “heavy setbacks.”
In response, Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the violence, offering condolences to victims and their families, and reaffirming its commitment to stand with Mali against terrorism.
In simple terms, Türkiye is showing political and moral support to Mali after a series of serious attacks, while Malian forces say they have managed to contain the situation.
